Now We Rise!

It's another Climate Conference, COP 28, and our planet is overheating !

Time is running out. What can we do?

We can make our voices heard by taking part in the Global Day of Action in Market Harborough.

Date : 9th December

Time : 1pm – 3pm

Venue : near the Old Grammar School, 40 The Square, Market Harborough , LE16 7PA

Short speeches and climate chants, speaking to passersby, inviting motorists to show their support, we aim to encourage the public to know there is hope if we all rise and act.

Bring your placards and whistles and drums or just yourself but COME whatever the weather and for however long you can stay.

Wonderfully, over 130 companies like Ikea, Volvo and BT, have sent an open letter to Cop 28 outlining the damage to their businesses that extreme weather events are having, insisting that COP 28 produces a timeline to end using fossil fuels. (Attracta Mooney, FT Climate Correspondent article Oct 23rd).

Let’s show our Government the time for action is NOW!

Let’s encourage passersby – we can change things!

Will you COME?

Or you can email me at faganjulie@yahoo.co.uk with any questions. The site is level. There is some nearby shelter should we experience one of the adverse weather events now happening regularly!

Look forward to seeing you. Julie, Sustainable Harborough Community and affiliated to Friends of the Earth and Eco Churches Harborough
