Leicestershire County Council (LCC) are working with Active Travel England to better connect with our communities and stakeholders in the world of active travel. We want to hear from the many individuals, advocacy groups, residents, and professionals with a keen interest in this topic to ensure the schemes we introduce are effective and useful.
As part of this process, LCC are holding a Cycling, Walking and Wheeling Forum to allow an opportunity for information sharing and ideas to be discussed. While this isn’t a formal consultation process, there will be an opportunity to hear updates from LCC in relation to:
LCC's active and sustainable travel agenda
information about new and existing schemes from LCC
LCC's Choose How You Move behaviour change programme
LCC's Cycling and Walking Strategy
LCC's Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plans
LCC also are keen to hear your experiences and suggestions, and the Forum will allow a two-way flow of information. They are planning to hold the Forum events at County Hall twice a year, with the inaugural event on Wednesday 13 September between 6pm and 8pm.
LCC are eager for these forums to be a genuinely useful and credible arena for everyone to share information and ideas on a subject that is important to us all, so they will be using feedback gathered from the first event to shape further meetings.
