This is the first part of multiple events planting over 9000 tree whips with donations from Leicestershire County Council and TCV.org #Idigtrees scheme and support of multiple Tree Wardens. Woodland Trust are also involved directly with other landowners
Please bring your own labelled spade and refreshment.
The site may be wet and muddy so boots and warm water proof clothing, hats and gloves are essential. Rubberised gardening gloves are recommended as we have dog rose and hawthorn in the mix.
Welham lane is sign posted off the A6 north of Great Bowden. It is a single track no through road. Parking is limited. Please car share and park in the spaces along Welham lane. The site gate is What3words location ///disprove.claps.vertical near the footbridge crossing over the Langton Brook.
By booking a free ticket, we can see how many are coming and inform you of any changes by email. If there is torrential rain or a blizzard, we can let you know if we have to postpone. There is no need to print or bring your ticket as you will be on our ticket holders list as we sign you in at reception.

Thanks for your help. We expect to have planted over 30,000 trees by this spring and instigated 7 natural flood management schemes since we started in 2020 as we almost have the lowest woodland cover in the UK and our clay catchment floods. Nothing happens without our wonderful landowners and volunteers. It's fun for all ages.
