Lower energy, lower costs, lower carbon

Harborough Community Energy: Our Goals
To achieve a more resilient energy situation in Harborough District, we are running three energy initiatives.
Powering Up

We’re working with buildings in the community to save on costs by implementing renewable energy projects. We are especially focused on community funded renewable energy projects.
Powering Down

Helping households and businesses save energy and cut bills through tips, advice and demonstrations.
We seek to help people to keep their homes comfortable and healthy, while avoiding high fuel bills.
Energy Champions

Our trained Energy Champions (or Energy Advisors) help with energy bill ‘health checks’ and advice on home energy usage.
Energy Champions are trained in methods to make your home more energy efficient. These can range from free to expensive.

Community Energy - What is it?
Community energy is about people coming together, taking action and using local resources to reduce, manage or generate their own energy.
Why?
– So that Harborough District residents are empowered to have warmer healthier homes that are cheaper to run.
– To bring more renewable energy generation into the Harborough area through community funded energy schemes.
