Our colleagues at Climate Action Leicester and Leicestershire have been running a campaign for a number of months now, calling for the Leicestershire County Council pension scheme to divest from investments in fossil fuel companies. We know many Sustainable Harborough Community and Harborough Climate Action members have signed their petition, and made comments through the public consultation.
As part of this campaign, they are organising a protest in Leicester as part of the UK Divest Day of Action on Friday 24th March:
A demo with speeches from 5.30-6.30pm. Gather at Leicester clocktower at 5.30pm, move to the Town Square end of Gallowtree Gate for speeches at 5.50pm, end 6.30pm. Please make a placard, bring a friend and COME AND JOIN US!
